Re: Mutual limerence with your LO
Thanks for your reply spadge100. Very reassuring and helpful. I have managed NC now for a number of weeks now - would be longer but LO persisted and pursued to tempt me back. Each time sent me in a spin. But each day of NC gave me distance and space allowing me to look at 'it' - the relationship - l...

Re: Zoom meeting recording from last night now available
Continuing on from yesterday's Zoom meeting, it has occured to me that the sense of grief felt in NC is possibly the polar opposite of when we have contact with our LO - the euphoric state we crave in limerence. I'm reading The Happiness Hypothesis by Jonathan Haidt. He writes about passionate love ...

Re: Crippling jealousy
Interesting. I thought that jealousy intensity may be correlated to relationship with LO - the deeper in you go, the more pain you feel (?)
And, consequently, possibly, the more difficult to get out of (??)

Crippling jealousy
It's taken me over a week to get from NC announcement to my LO (whom I've been embroiled in an intense affair for nearly two years), to here - LO reluctantly adhering to NC - and I'm left reflecting how the most painful (at times it felt like tortuous!) part of my limerence experience was the overwh...

Is my LO or codependent?
My LO love bombed me from the moment we met. He continues to pour honey words all over me to pull me back - out of NC. I've felt a compulsion to understand him - 'us' - in a desperate need to understand the (intense) relationship we have been experiencing (full on emotional and physical affair) for ...

NC day 1
Day 1: Was looking out the window and thinking (again) how curious it is that life, out there, feels so empty. I slowly became aware of how 'out there' was reflected in me. That I felt alone. Never physically (I have a lovely family near me) yet I've been aware of this inner 'aloneness' most of my a...

Love/infatuation/romance addiction... which addiction?
I've been trying to establish which addiction best describes limerence. Is it an addiction to a person?

Re: Mutual limerence with your LO
Thanks AMA210. Your reply is very helpful. I think that 'feeling adored and special' is my trigger and related to how my dad (who passed away a few years ago) made me feel throughout my life. My LO drops love bombs all over me!

Re: Mutual limerence with your LO
Thanks 'significant other' for taking the time to explain. Very poignant. Especially identifying limerence as OCD and relating to the oedipus phase. Resonates for me. Will read up.

Re: Mutual limerence with your LO
Thanks Cookie, your reply is very insightful and helpful. Yes, My LO was very much the pursuer which, I believe, fed my craving for attention/validation (I had not known I had needed such validation until very recently!) Two questions - I don't fully understand the concept of - "confused/emotio...
