Re: Depressed after NC

ah yes that site is so very helpful. I bought the e-book from DrL and I found it was well worth it. Only a few dollars, I liked having and organized/structured guide. The blog is great too. Keep reading, the knowledge is very helpful, and it provides a good distraction when you are feelig really low.

Re: Depressed after NC

Hi Gargantua Feeling depressed after NC is pretty normal I think. I found that after a few days things faded to dullness and boredom, which was easier. Everyone may be different. But most struggle at first. You basically lost your biggest source of pleasure if that makes sense. It takes a while befo...

Re: New and looking for perspective

Thanks Spadge. It helps when you finally realize the behavior makes you feel bad way more than it makes you feel good. I think I am finally starting to put together the pieces of why I was vulnerable to this episode. Problem is there are no easy fixes. My career was part of it, leaving my job was no...

Re: New and looking for perspective

Thanks mycorona. There certainly a lot of parallels in our stories and LOs. This morning I realized I need to take a full break from the app, not look at all, post nothing. My other friends will understand, they will probably just think I lost my phone or something. In a way it is telling LO that he...

Re: Social Media NC - LO's SO

Cookie, I've actually managed to keep LO#1 on social media. Of course when I was limerent for him (~a decade ago) I compulsively checked it analyzed everything. We moved away from each other approximately a year or so after my limerence started to fade. The first year apart there was a little bit of...

Re: New and looking for perspective

Well... I have come to realize a few things. My little experiment at attempted (remote) contact did not go well. There was something there, no idea what the hell it was, but things aren't neutral between us and he does respond to me in some way. When he reacted to me I responded in turn. This latest...

Re: One year on

Spadge,

Must be an odd day. Didn't realize how much you have been through. Thanks for being a consistent voice of reason here. I would do well to listen to you more often. Congrats on holding strong and making it this far!

Re: New and looking for perspective

Thanks mamasita, In a way I can take this as a great indicator of what kind of long term companion my LO would be. It would not be smooth sailing that is for sure. With my blunt nature and his moodiness there would be plenty of 'turbulence' and it would definitely stop being fun and exciting at some...

Re: New and looking for perspective

Well in another exciting turn of events my LO now seems annoyed at me. He went from seeming overexcited to communicate to pushing me away. He signed off our last thread with... 'Best of luck!' Aka f off. No idea what i did, I reread the thread and I think everything I wrote was pretty innocuous. I h...

Re: New and looking for perspective

LC definitely not easy going. Initially I thought LO might have just forgotten about me with my LC. But it seems that was not the case. While I was not reaching out he pretty much stopped messaging, except for one time. However, upon reinitiating contact, he seems quite eager to get back to where we...
