Very true indeed. Just when you think you have the limerbeast your thoughts start to go: “maybe we can be friends?” Maybe if I just write to her to check in and see how she is doing.

I almost feel guilty when I am happy which is madness. Like I am betraying her by not thinking of her. As an addiction it’s certainly no fun.

But now nearly six months into NC and have stopped reaching out to mutual friends too as I realised it was just a bit of a back door. They said the feeling was completely mutual which certainly didn’t make it any easier so it’s best for me to just assume she is happy and moving on and not actually know anything more about her life. I realise that’s the only way I will ever get free of the constant thoughts.
