Is this a form of OCD?

For some, limerence isn't about suffering. For others, they do not see limerence as akin to an addiction. Others do not see limerence as originating in childhood from poor parenting and dysfunctional attachments.

Here is a place to share different beliefs as well as share your own POV.

Is this a form of OCD?

Post by DreamingBlue »

Seems like a well-discussed topic already, but I still wonder if my treatment should be more focused on the intrusive thoughts, and the compulsions I indulge sometimes in response. If you did a pet scan of some of our heads, would we look like OCD patients? It's obsessive, it's compulsive, but it's not OCD, some say. It's more like an addiction. I've had some luck labeling my thoughts of LO as deceptive brain signals. But still, sometimes the thoughts and feelings so primary, so real, that I indulge them.
