Ruth and /I have been low users of social media. Twitter we view as toxic and divisive, Instagram for people seeking validation and Tiktok, for the younger generation who have ever decreasing attention spans.
That was until our younger daughter who has grown her skin care business. PerlCosmetics.com through extensive use of social media and vicariously become an "influencer" badgered us to start a TikTok channel. With a little research we could see a number of therapists on this platform, most who looked too young to have much real world experience.
So two weeks ago we took our first tentative steps in making some one minute clips of a few topics relevant to the work we do. In this time our clips have been viewed over 1.7 million times and we have amassed over 11,000 subscribers. Compare that to 7 years of running limerence.net which has grown to just 3,000 subscribers.
