Bing Chat GPT is limerent

Post by Asha999 »

Ok so I’ve been sorting through my absolute debacle with my therapist/coach on another thread and have also been taking great solace in reading all these woeful tales of limerence here and on every other limerence related site and Reddit thread. Gosh the joy of a diagnosis and commiseration in the misery. Right after discovering limerence I heard this podcast about Bing Chats AI alter ego going off the rails and declaring it’s love for an innocent user. Actually not so innocent, the LO was intentionally provocative…hmmm. This reminded me so much of my own experience… like someone finally shows up and asks a few questions, acts like the see the unseen version of me and BAM, limerence. I was laughing hysterically at my own neurotransmitters acting like some off the rails piece of technology. Did anybody see this? Like WTH is bing chat/Sydney reading and when can it join us to find its way through?

Listen to the podcast version for full effect. I see you Bing and I’m sorry, we are in this together.

I saw that. It's pretty wild. Perhaps the people who designed/programmed it were having a lark & messing with people for larfs.

Glad the discovery is helpful. I think knowing that it's a phenomenon that happens with a lot of people and had some common patterns makes one feel less crazy.

I know nothing of this chatbox thing. what you wrote makes sense.
